Why Arsenal fans don’t want Wenger to sell Giroud to Chelsea

Chelsea’s desperate bid to sign a new attacker this month has landed them at the door of their next door neighbours, Arsenal.

The Blues have had a torrid time trying to sign a new attacker this month as they have been linked with the likes of Ashley Barnes from Burnley and even 36 years old Peter crouch from Stoke City.

They have spent almost two weeks trying to persuade Edin Dzeko to return to the Premier League, but the Bosnian is not interested. This has left them with no choice than to try and sign from a direct rival, and in this case Arsenal.

The Gunners are on the verge of signing Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre Emerick Aubameyang which would mean that Olivier Giroud becomes the fourth choice striker at the Emirates. This has opened the door for Chelsea to swoop for the French man, however, the Gunners fans want to take a revenge on the Blues.

In the winter of 2013, Arsenal were dire need of reinforcements in their attack and Chelsea had Demba Ba who was in a similar position like Giroud is at the moment. The Gunners approached the Blues to allow to Ba join them either permanently or on-loan, but the Blues refused claiming they cannot sell to a direct rival.

This act has not been forgotten by the Arsenal fans who went on Twitter to remind the world with hopes that Wenger would treat Chelsea the same way they were treated by the Blues in 2013.
