Liverpool’s loss to Swansea on Monday brought them back down to earth.
Many of their fans were shocked by their team following a thrilling win over the best team in the league with a loss to the worst team in the division.
One thing that was missing in Liverpool’s play that day was creativity.
This has made many fans to call for the club to try and replace Philippe Coutinho before the end of this transfer window.
Two players who have been consistently linked with a move to Liverpool are Christian Pulisic and Thomas Lemar.
The former is making headways in the German Bundesliga at just 19 years of age, and the latter was also instrumental in AS Monaco’s Ligue 1 success last season.
Let us look at their numbers and see if anyone would be a better signing than the other.
Christian Pulisic has played across all the attacking positions for Dortmund this season, making 22 appearances in total. The American has 3 goals and 1 assist, he averages 1.6 shots per game, a boosts of an 81.8% pass completion. He completes 3.4 dribbles per game, wins about 0.3 aerial duels, and averages 1.2 key passes per match.
Thomas Lemar has played 19 games for Monaco this season, scoring 2 goals and providing 5 assists. He has a pass success rate of 82.5%, while averaging 1.7 shots per game and the same number of key passes per game. His averages 1.9 dribbles per game, and has won 0.4 aerial duels per game this season also.
With both of these targets still very young, their stats are impressive and anyone of them would do better when they are under the tutelage of Jurgen Klopp.
