Arsenal had a busy and somewhat productive winter transfer window, and several of their fans would be delighted by the caliber of attacking players they brought especially after losing Alexis Sanchez to a direct rival.
However, there are areas of the team that their fans still feel they needed to refresh as they look to get into the top four at the end of this season. With an ageing defence, the Gooners expected them to sign Johnny Evans, while others believe they needed Wilfred Ndidi.
Evans was linked to Arsenal from last summer and after Manchester City signed Aymeric Laporte, the road was clear for Arsenal to land the former Manchester United man, but the Gunners decided to allow that opportunity pass them. The fans’ desire for Evans was made even more apparent by the way they capitulated at Swansea on Tuesday leaving them 8 points off the fourth position.
With the sale Francis Coquelin to Valencia this month, the Gunners are left with only Mohammed Elneny and Granit Xhaka as options for defensive midfield, they expected Wenger to move for Ndidi.
Ndidi has shown that he is very good at intercepting opponents play and helping to defence into attack.
