Tottenham are desperate to begin talks with Manchester United over the transfer of Anthony Martial as the French man grows more frustrated with life under Jose Mourinho.
Martial missed out on the French World Cup squad this summer after reduced role under Jose Mourinho, and he is keen to leave and get more playing time. Martial scored 9 goals in 30 games this season, but the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window means that he had to be rotated with Marcus Rashford off the bench.
Manchester United are now preparing to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid which mean Martial would fall further down the pecking order. This has prompted Tottenham to make their move for him.
Reports claim that Daniel Levy has enquired about the availability of Martial but he is yet to get a response from the Red Devils. Spurs may have to spend about £50 million to get Martial as he joined the Red Devils for £36 million in the summer of 2015.
His transfer fee when he joined Manchester United could rise to £61.5 million when other clause are met, but the Red Devils can almost certainly avoid paying those if he is sold off this summer.
