Tottenham have not given up hopes of signing Brazilian star Malcom, and the Lilywhites are prepared to shatter their transfer record to land the 20 years old.
Malcom was a subject of interest from some of the teams in Europe last month, but Bordeaux refused to sell the talented winger as they are in a relegation scrap.
The Brazilian even admitted that he wanted to leave last month, but respected the club’s decision not to sell and promised to give his best to them in the next six months in exchange for a transfer next summer.
Spurs actually made an offer of £35 million for his service last month, but it was deemed not good enough and they are ready to offer more when they return next summer.
Reports from Sports Illustrated claims the Lilywhites are prepared to offer £50 million for Malcom’s signature. This would break their current transfer record being held by Davison Sanchez who joined them for £42 million last summer.
Many Spurs fans thought that their club had forgotten about Malcom after they signed Lucas Moura from PSG, but Mauricio Pochettino knows he needs more depth if he wants to successfully challenge for the Premier League title next season.
