Tottenham have begun plans to add to their squad ahead of the next transfer window and the Lilywhites have taken their search for a new star to the Dutch top flight.
Reports from Sun Sport claim that Mauricio Pochettino has made the signing of Ajax’s Frenkie De Jong the priority as the 21 years old continues to impress for the former European champions.
However, they face major competition from some of Europe’s biggest sides. The player has talked about his admiration for Barcelona and dreams of playing alongside Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou.
The reports further claim that the Catalans tried to sign him with two unsuccessful bids last summer, and they plan to return for him in the next transfer window.
PSG, Manchester City, and Borussia Dortmund as also interested in signing the midfielder who has played in all of Ajax’s 4 league games this season.
The French giants are on the verge of losing Adrien Rabiot who seemingly looks to be heading to Barcelona, and they want De Jong to replace him, while Pep Guardiola who failed to sign Jorginho or any of his midfield target in the last transfer window, wants to make De Jong his player.
