Liverpool may have to break their club record fee again if they want to land AS Roma number one next summer.
The Reds are currently battling with Real Madrid for the signature of Allisson after their goalkeepers have failed to show they are world class.
Jurge Klopp has had to rotate Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet throughout the first half of the season. Although he has made Karius the permanent first choice this year, the German has still not convinced watchers that he can lead them to the Premier League title, this uncertainty has continued to link the Reds with other goalies.
They were reportedly keen on signing AS Roma’s Allisson last month and remain keen ahead of the next transfer window.
However, Calciomercato reports that the Reds now face the prospect of paying £76 million for the Brazilian. Per the reports Roma are preparing to offer Allisson a new deal worth £4 million per season and increase his release clause to £76 million.
This figure may appear too much for Liverpool to pay, but they face the prospect of missing out on signing him after Real Madrid joined the race for his signature and Los Blancos would have no problem paying close to that figure.
