Manchester United were on the verge of losing Marouane Fellaini this summer as his current deal runs out, however, the Belgian seems to have put pen to paper on a lucrative two years deal to remain at Old Trafford.
Fellaini would reveal the club he would be playing for next season on Sunday and it is widely reported that he has signed a new deal with the Red Devils.
However, reports claim that he was close to signing for Manchester United’s bitter rivals, Arsenal and he only changed his mind because the Gunners offered terms that were bettered by Manchester United.
Other European teams like AC Milan and PSG were also linked with moves for the 30 years, but Arsenal quickly stole a march on his other suitors but they still could not offer better terms than those offered by the Red Devils.
Fellaini remaining at Old Trafford would help Jose Mourinho focus on strengthening other areas of his team as they look to get better than the second position they ended in the Premier League last season.
Fred has also been added to the team and the Brazilian could keep Fellaini on the bench as Jose Mourinho looks keen on building his midfield on Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Fred.
