Real Madrid would move to sign Eden Hazard this summer if they fail to replace Cristiano Ronaldo with Neymar.
Hazard has been shining at this summer’s World Cup and remains perhaps the only superstar still left in the competition after helping Belgium beat Brazil in the last round, and Marca claims he could finally see his dream of playing for Real Madrid come true.
Ronaldo is closing in on joining Juventus for £88 million and Los Blancos are targeting Neymar as his replacement so that they can keep their fan base happy. However, PSG who signed Neymar for a world record fee last summer have no intention of selling the Brazilian.
Should Florentino Perez fail to land Neymar, he would be turning his attention to securing the services of Hazard. Hazard has been stalling on signing a new Chelsea contract and there are speculations that he is indirectly inviting Real Madrid to come and make an offer for him.
Hazard is keeping his options open and the reality of playing in the Europa League instead of the Champions League this season could fast track his decision to quit Stamford Bridge for the Bernabeu.
