Arsenal and Manchester United target, Mauro Icardi is closer to a move to the La Liga as report claims Real Madrid are set to trigger his release clause.
Spanish outlet Don Balon is claiming Icardi is at the top of Real Madrid’s shopping list and they want to complete the transfer early. The report further claims that they already agreed to pay his release clause of £96 million.
Icardi has been shinning for Inter Milan this season, scoring over 60% of his team goals. The Italians would love to keep him at the San Siro, but they know if they fail to qualify for the Champions League again, the Argentine would try to force a move away.
Earlier in the week, reports in Italy was claiming he is set to be the biggest transfer story of next summer in the manner of Neymar’s transfer to PSG.
Los Blancos are keen on refreshing their team ahead of next season, Icardi alongside Mauricio Pochettino, Harry Kane, and Neymar are the new set of players they hope to welcome to the Bernabeu.
However, Icardi is the easiest target for them to land and they want to sign him before Manchester United and Arsenal get set to table official bids.
