Real Madrid have not made the ideal competitive start to their new campaign, and that has forced them to reconsider their decision not to sign another new players this summer.
Los Blancos have made just three signings including Thibaut Courtois and Vinicius Junior despite losing Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus this summer. They had hoped that Julen Lopetegui who succeeded as manager of Spain’s junior national teams would helped them achieve success with their younger band of Galacticos.
However, following their 4-2 loss to Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup, Florentino Perez is finally thinking of making new signings. One player whom they have as top of their shopping list is Marcos Alonso.
Madrid showed how weak they are defensively in that game against Atletico as Diego Costa scored twice in normal time with two further goals from Saul Niguez and Koke means they have conceded 4 goals for the first time since their match against Barcelona in 2015.
Alonso is consider the best option to fix their left back problem as Marcelo is guilty of forgetting himself upfront when he joins the attack.
After reluctantly selling Thibaut Courtois to them this summer, Madrid expect it to be difficult for them to convince the Blues to sell Alonso.
