Real Betis are prepared to offer Lucas Moura an escape route from his Tottenham poor stint this summer, as he continues to be underwhelming for the Lilywhites.
Lucas joined Mauricio Pochettino’s side from PSG last winter and played just 11 games for them before the end of last season. Having lost his place in the Brazilian national team, he was available for preseason and impressed in their International Champions Cup campaign.
He also started their first match of the season against Newcastle, but he is widely seen as a player who has only flattered to deceive, and he may soon be surplus to requirements at the home of the ICC winners.
Reports on Sun Sport claims that Real Betis have made him a major transfer target, and the club’s vice president has confirmed that they are interested in signing him.
Lorenzo Serra Ferrer admitted: “They [Lucas Moura and Joao Mario] are two great footballers and if we have possibilities we would like to have them.
“But we have to be realistic and know what we can do.
“We try to distribute the economic potential well in order to try to reinforce and improve the workforce.
“We have made six additions, replacing players that last year performed very well, with a brilliant goal, and we think we have improved.
“It will be difficult to match what we did last year.”
