PSG have moved to end rumours linking them with a £100 million move for Tottenham star, Christian Eriksen.
The French giants have become accustomed to making big money signings every summer for the past two summers. They signed Neymar from Barcelona last summer, and completed the big money loan move for Kylian Mbappe this summer.
However, reports over the past week claimed that they were looking to sign a new star midfielder. According to the reports they had targeted Ivan Rakitic, and after the Croatian rejected them, they turned their attention to Christian Eriksen.
A plot to offer Spurs £100 million for the former Ajax man was said to be in the works, but the French side has categorically denied such a rumour.
The Ligue 1 champions sent an email to The Associated Press, which reads that they “categorically denies the transfer rumours regarding a potential transfer of Christian Eriksen” adding that the reports “seem to ignore the current reality of the transfer market.”
PSG are currently under investigation by UEFA as the European football governing body looks to determine if they have broken any Financial Fair Play rules in their transfer dealings from last summer.
If they are caught to have broken any rule, the club may be forced into selling one of their prized assets including Neymar and Mbappe.
