Arsenal attacker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has welcomed the Gunners’ decision to axe Arsene Wenger and replace him with former PSG chief, Unai Emery.
The Spaniard was appointed as Wenger’s replacement this week after the French man was let go from his position following 22 years in charge of the former FA Cup holders.
While many stars have expressed their shock at the exit of Wenger, Aubameyang seems to agree with the club’s decision to axe Wenger even claiming that the club had stagnated under the watch of the French man over the past few years.
He claimed everyone at the club is excited about the arrival of Emery and are looking forward to a new beginning with the Spaniard.
“I think it’s a little bit of a mixed feeling” Aubameyang claims.
“Over the last few seasons – you have to tell the truth – the club has stagnated a little bit.
“I think everyone is actually a little bit excited to see what happens next season.”
The former Borussia Dortmund striker is set to star for the Spaniard when the new season begins and his pace would certainly be of great importance to the Gunners under Emery who built his PSG team around the fast Kylian Mbappe.
