Chelsea’s new signing Emerson Palmieri has sent a message of delight to the club’s fans after sealing his move from AS Roma.
The Blues shelled out £25 million for the young Brazilian after a protracted negotiation which initially included his teammate, Edin Dzeko. Palmieri joins the Blues to help provide competition for the ever-improving Marcos Alonso.
Alonso is the highest scoring defender in the Premier League since he joined the Blues from Fiorentina 18 months ago, and Palmieri would be hoping he can take the first team spot from the former Bolton man.
Palmieri told the club that he was delighted to be joining the Blues and knows he would become a better player under the tutelage of Antonio Conte. According to Palmieri, Conte is the best coach for the Blues and he has shown that he is one of the best coaches in the world.
This statement would come as positives to the Blues fans who have become accustomed to news about their manager’s future being very uncertain. There have been exclusive reports in the Daily Mail that this would be Conte’s last season even if he wins the Champions League.
