In-coming Chelsea boss Maurizio Sari is prepared to make Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly his first signing when he is unveiled as the manager of the Blues.
Chelsea are closing in on sacking Antonio Conte and replacing him with his compatriot Sari. Conte oversaw the Blues Premier League triumph in the 2016/2017 season and won the FA Cup last season, however, there were problems along the way including the way he handled Diego Costa’s transfer and how he criticizes the club’s hierarchy outside.
Sari helped Napoli battle Juventus for the Serie A title all the way last season before they eventually capitulated with just a few games to go. But it was the first time a team had challenge the Old Ladies dominance that closely.
Chelsea hope to make him their new manager before the season starts and he has already begun planning his team for the new season.
A report from Sun Sport claims that he has identified the highly sought-after Koulibaly as his first signing. The 27 years old has been linked with a move away from Naples for the past few seasons but Napoli’s asking price have put off suitors. The Blues would try again with Sari as their manager and hope they can reach an agreement.
