Maurizio Sarri will swap Alvaro Morata for Gonzalo Higuain if he is named new Chelsea boss for next season according to reports.
The Napoli boss who managed Higuain for one season in Naples before the former Real Madrid man moved to Juventus is on the verge of replacing Antonio Conte as Chelsea’s head coach after he led Napoli to chase down Juventus for the Italian Serie A title this season.
In their single season together in Naples, Higuain netted 36 times in 35 league games in the 2015/2016 season before joining Juve for an Italian record fee.
Morata has had an underwhelming season in London with Chelsea and the Blues seem to be keen on letting him go. However, they want their new manager to decide if he wants to keep the Spaniard or not.
Juventus have already offered Morata an escape route from his Chelsea nightmare by agreeing to sign the attacker on-loan for three years with an obligation to buy at the end of the loan deal. It is an agreement it seems Sarri would like and he would propose Higuain to be part of the deal even if it would mean the Blues would add more money.
