Manchester United’s bid to sign Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic has been helped after it was revealed he could leave the Milan side if they fail to meet a condition he agreed with them after this season.
The Red Devils were very keen on signing Perisic last summer, but they were priced out of a deal for the Croatian, presumably because Jose Mourinho went public with his desire to land a wide man.
Perisic was reportedly also keen to move to Old Trafford and remains interested if the two clubs can reach an agreement. However, there seems to be an easier way Manchester United can land their man after this season.
According to CaughtOffside via The People Person, the Croatian would leave the Serie A if they fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League. Per the source that is a promise Inter made to him and he believes they would not want to disappoint him.
The only two teams that look like finishing inside the Italian top four this season are Napoli and Juventus, the remaining two spots are being fought for by Lazio, Inter Milan, and Roma. This situation means that Manchester United can be optimistic about their chances of landing Perisic.
