Manchester United have been made to work harder in their bid to sign one of the best youngsters in the country.
The Red Devils are currently stocking their academy with some of the best young players and they looked in pole position to sign Matthew Bondswell from Nottingham Forest, but Sun Sport reports that RB Leipzig are closer to signing the teenager.
Bondswell who is just 16 has refused to sign his first professional contract at the City Ground and this has alerted the attention of several top clubs.
RB Leipzig are leading German teams into the English league to steal young talents, and Bondswell could make the move as he sees Leipzig promoting youngsters faster.
Leipzig are also looking to use Ademola Lookman’s experience on loan with them last season to convince Bondswell to choose them, and it looks like it would work.
Manchester United have not got the kind of reputations the Germans have for promoting youth as many of their academy graduates end up moving to other smaller teams before they can eventually reach their potential. However, Leipzig have one of the youngest squads in the whole of Europe and they offer younger players more chances to play.
