Manchester United are set to complete the signing of Brazilian star, Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk next week.
The Brazilian has drawn interest from Europe’s biggest teams for his performance with the Ukrainians over the past few season and Manchester City were very close to signing him in the January transfer window.
However, Guardiola seems to have been distracted by the availability of Napoli star, Jorginho and the Red Devils are set to pip them to his signature.
Fred is currently with the Brazilian squad training at Anfield ahead of the World Cup and Jose Mourinho is s desperate to complete the deal before the tournament begins.
According to Sun Sport, the clubs have reached an agreement and only a few details needs to be sorted out. The deal is set to cost United £52 million including various add-ons.
Mourinho believes Fred is the perfect replacement for the outgoing Michael Carrick and has recently talked about his love for Brazilian players. The Portuguese is still actively pursuing deals for Allan from Napoli also but Fred would be the first to come through.
Fred claims he is dedicating his time to preparing for the World Cup while his agents trash out his future.
