Manchester United are so desperate to land a centre back before the transfer window closes that they would sign any defender who they see right.
The Red Devils have targeted several high-profile defenders including Yerry Mina, Toby Alderweireld, and Jerome Boateng, however, with just under a day before the transfer window closes, they have still not been able to sign any of their main targets.
Reports on Sun Sport claim that they have turned their attention towards Chelsea’s Kourt Zouma who is a also a target of Everton. Zouma spent last season on loan at Stoke City but he was unable to stop the Potters from getting relegated and has returned to Stamford Bridge, where his future in the short term at least appears to be outside the FA Cup holders.
Reports in France claim that Manchester United hope to complete the permanent transfer of the 23 year old before the transfer window shuts today, and they hope that their permanent approach would convince Chelsea to sell to them instead of Everton who are only looking for a loan deal.
Jose Mourinho made Zouma his first choice defender during his second spell as Chelsea’s manager and they won the Premier League in 2015.
