Manchester United may be planning to sit down and discuss a new contract with David d Gea, but the Red Devils are also exploring the opportunity of cashing in on him.
The Red Devils are very much aware of the fact the Spain goalie wants to go back home at some point, but they would want to collect a premium from his transfer.
Reports in Spain are claiming that Real Madrid have approached the Red Devils about a summer move for the goal keeper. Per the reports, Manchester United have told them they would sell him for nothing less than £115 million.
Florentino Perez knows that goal keepers can have long careers just like Gianluigi Buffon has and remains unbothered by the Spaniard’s age.
De Gea, 27, currently has just six months left on his United deal, but the Red Devils have the option of extending it by one year. The Spaniard is also open to renewing his deal for a longer term, but he wants £375, 000 per week.
Manchester United have also started looking for a replacement just in case they cash in. Stoke City’s Jack Butland, Everton’s Jordan Pickford, and Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak are their targets.
