Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has agreed to join Besiktas next summer.
The Belgian is out of contract at Old Trafford within the next five months and has refused to sign a new deal. Jose Mourinho has urged the Red Devils to do whatever it takes to keep Fellaini with them beyond this season, however, the Belgian seems to have made up his mind on leaving.
Sun Sport is reporting that Fellaini has agreed to leave Old Trafford to seek a fresh challenge. Per the reports, he has already signed a pre-contract deal with the Turkish champions and he is looking forward to joining them in July.
This would come as a major blow to Mourinho and could alter the Portuguese manager’s plans in the transfer market next summer. Mourinho was already planning to sign a new midfielder because of the imminent retirement of Michael Carrick, but he may be forced to bring in two new midfielders.
The future of Ander Herrera also remains unclear as the Spanish midfielder remains a target of AC Milan who are doing all they can to land him for £35 million. Although United have said Herrera is going nowhere, the Spaniard could demand a transfer if he continues to be ignored by Mourinho.
