Manchester United’s capture of Alexis Sanchez seems to have given Jose Mourinho some confidence to explore the transfer market further, and the Portuguese manager has begun plans for the next transfer window. The Red Devils stole Sanchez from under the noses of their neighbors Manchester City and they are set for another major coup. Reports are claiming that Mourinho has told the club to secure Nice midfielder, Jena Michel Seri.
The Ivorian is one of the most watched players at the moment and came very close to joining Barcelona last summer.
Nice rejected the Catalans offer, but they know with only 18 months left on his deal after this season, they would need to sell up.
Manchester City have been looking to bring in Seri as a replacement for his compatriot, Yaya Toure, but they might lose out to Manchester United yet again.
Chelsea and Arsenal are also interested in Seri, but Manchester United’s spending power has placed them ahead of their rivals.
Jose Mourinho wants Seri to come in as a replacement for Michael Carrick who retires after this season.
Marouane Fellaini’s contract is also expiring and if the Belgian does not sign, Mourinho sees Seri as a capable replacement.
