Manchester United have been handed a major boost in their bid to sign Adrien Rabiot as the French man has rejected a new contract offer from PSG.
Rabiot is entering the final season of his current deal at the Parc des Princes and can begin to speak to foreign clubs from January. The former Manchester City prospect has been on the radar of Jose Mourinho for the past several seasons and the Red Devils could swoop for him this summer.
Rabiot was left out of France squad which eventually won the World Cup in Russia, but he played in more than 40 games for the French league and cup winners last season.
He was made the club’s captain during preseason as several of their star men were offered extended break following their exertions at the World Cup, and he scored in their league opener at the weekend and remains one of the club’s most important players.
His mother who is also his agent has held talks with Ed Woodward before, but the midfielder was not looking to move at that time, the Red Devils are now looking to start talks with his representative over a potential Bosman move next summer.
