Manchester United star, Anthony Martial has abandon plans to sign a new contract as he struggles to play more games under Jose Mourinho this season.
The French man fell out with Mourinho over the summer after failing to get guarantees over playing time, and he was fined £180k for leaving the club’s US tour to be by his partner as she delivered their son.
He had been scheduled to sign a new deal as reports claim that believes he would outlast the manager who has the history of being fired in his third season at every club he has managed.
However, results seem to be turning around at Old Trafford and the long term future of Mourinho is no longer in doubt. This has caused Martial to suspend signing a new contract until further notice.
Martial joined the Red Devils some three years ago for a fee that could rise to £58 million from AS Monaco and has just one year left on his current deal, however, the club has the option to extend it by a further year.
If they allowed his contract to run into its final season, his value would fall greatly and they want to avoid that.
