The two Manchester clubs are about to slug it out again in the transfer market come next summer. The Premier League rivals battled for the signature of Alexis Sanchez last month, with Manchester United ultimately winning.
Reports from Daily Star this morning is claiming they are about to fight for the same player yet again. This time, Leicester City’s Harry Maguire is the bone of contention.
Pep Guardiola has been open about his admiration for Maguire even having a word with the defender when they both met in the Carabao Cup earlier in the season. Guardiola was said to have been so impressed with the English man’s performance that he entertained the idea of signing him last month.
Maguire also made an impression on Jose Mourinho when he scored the equalizing goal for the Foxes in their last match against the Red Devil. With the likes of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones flopping at his defence he wants to bring Maguire next summer.
Maguire’s ability to be cool under pressure and play the ball out from the back has impressed his suitors mostly and the Premier League duo face competition from Arsenal also.
Leicester City do not need to sell, but a bid in the region of £50 million would be hard to turn down.
