Manchester City are facing an uncertain future for German midfielder, Ilkay Gundugan after he became Barcelona’s top target to replace Andres Iniesta who leaves them this summer.
Gundugan has recovered well from injury to become one of Pep Guardiola’s important players and he has just two years left in his current deal at the Etihad.
Sun Sport claims that Barca are prepared to pay over £50 million for Gundugan. The German is believed to be very happy at the Etihad; however, he would consider a move to Barcelona.
Gundugan, 27 joined Manchester City in the summer of 2016 for £20 million. He is set to play for Germany in their first game against Mexico at the World Cup. He was booed by the German fans in their game against Saudi Arabia, but he has not allowed that affect his performances for the Germans.
The Cityzens are looking to keep all their players happy, and a new deal could be on the cards for Gundugan. However, if he does choose to leave, it would be a huge blow for Manchester City who are looking to build on from last season’s success.
