Manchester City have continued their contract renewal drive and the next player to be offered an improved deal is Brazilian goalie Ederson.
The former Benfica shot stopper joined the Cityzens only last summer for a record £34 million. Many critics thought it was crazy to sign a young goalie for that amount, but he has proved his critics wrong and he is set to lead them to the Premier League title in just his first season.
His current deal is worth £70,000 per week and it runs until the summer of 2022, however, the club wants to improved that and show him that they appreciate his contributions.
He is not the first City player to be offered a new deal this season as the club has already offered fresh contracts to Nicolas Otamendi, Kevin de Bruyne, Gabriel Jesus, and Fernandinho.
Manchester City are gunning for the quadruple this season and they kept that hope alive by beating FC Basel 4-0 away in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 match. They are also still in the FA Cup, have reached the Carabao Cup final, and are already the Premier League champions – elect.
