Manchester City could be set to pip their city rivals United to the signature of Napoli star, Jorginho after his agent dismissed the news that they have agreed to join Manchester United.
Jorginho has been a star performer in the Napoli side that pushed Juventus all the way in the Serie A race this season before capitulating. His strength lies in turning defence into attack and his performances has linked him with a move to several European sides.
Jorginho has earlier admitted that he favoured a move to Manchester City over Manchester United opening the door for Pep Guardiola to get his man easily.
Central midfield is one position that the two Manchester teams need to strengthen in the summer. Manchester City are allowing Yaya Toure leave after 8 years at the Etihad, while Manchester United would see Michael Carrick retire and move in to become one of Jose Mourinho’s playing staff.
Fred is another central midfielder on the radar of both teams, but Jorginho is believed to be their first choice as he plays in a more competitive league.
Liverpool are also interested in the 26 years old who is expected to cost his next employer at least £53milllion.
