Manchester City have seen off competition from Premier League sides to sign one of the biggest talents in British football at the moment.
The Cityzens have agreed a £360,000 deal with Shamrock Rovers for the transfer of 16 year old goalkeeper Gavin Basunu who would join them next summer.
The youngster is yet to complete his major school exams so he cannot move from Ireland this season.
Basunu made the headlines a couple of weeks back when he made some impressive saves and kept clean sheets for Shamrock Rovers in the Irish topflight. His performances drew the attention of several top teams from England and across Europe, however, Manchester City are said to have reportedly easily outbid his other suitors.
According to Irish Independent, the deal includes several add-ons should the youngster achieve his immense potential and go on to become an important part of City’s first team in the future.
He has kept a clean in his four league outings with Rovers and only conceded his first goal in the Europa League qualifiers against AIK Stockholm.
Tottenham and Liverpool are said to have attempted to hijack his move to City, but the player was already won over by the impressive structure at the Premier League winners.
