Liverpool have secured the long term future of one of their most exciting youg players, Curtis Jones after he signed his first professional contract with them until 2020.
Jones have been turning heads around England with his development and rejected the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Everton to sign for the Reds.
He has been on the books of Liverpool since the Under 9 level and this represents a major step for him at just the young age of 17. He started playing for the club’s under 18 when he was just 15 years old and made his Under 23 debut last year.
The midfielder has credited the mentorship of Steven Gerard for helping him improve his game, while the Liverpool captain has praised him as one of the best young players he has ever seen. According to Gerard, his team is built around Jones as the youngster can create something out of nothing.
He was invited to train with Jurgen Klopp’s senior team last year and he would be hoping he can join the likes of Ovie Ejaria and Ben Woodburn to be handed a chance to play for the first team soon.
