Liverpool are no longer interested in Monaco star, Thomas Lemar and Arsenal are free to now land their man.
The Reds wanted to sign Lemar last summer, and talks were progressing until Arsenal made a late £90 million bid for the teenager, which saw his value skyrocket. Liverpool refused to match the Gunners’ bid and the player decided against moving altogether.
When the Reds sold Philippe Coutinho last month, reports claimed they would return for Lemar to replace the Brazilian. But that has proven to be very untrue and Jurgen Klopp has decided to wait until next summer to replace the “Little Magician.”
However, one player who would not be brought in to replace Coutinho is Lemar. According to Liverpool Echo, the Reds have removed him from their list of target as they consider his price tag unjustifiable.
In truth Lemar has underperformed this season, but he may still end up in the Premier League. This is because Arsenal are still keen on signing him, and Liverpool’s decision to back out of the transfer has opened up the opportunity for them to land him at a very good price.
