Liverpool famously won the Champions League after coming back from 3-0 down in the second half against AC Milan to take the game to penalties, however this week in the Champions League, they were very much on the receiving end. Having taken a 3-0 lead by half time, they conceded 3 second half goals away to Sevilla to allow the La Liga club to snatch a draw, with the equaliser being scored in stoppage time.
The defensive frailties that were on show could give Chelsea some hope of claiming all 3 points when the clubs meet at Anfield on Saturday. Having not lost in the league at Anfield since the 2011/12 season, a bet on Chelsea is certainly reasonable, especially given their superior defensive record.
Both clubs will be looking to their star players to steal the show for them, with Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata hoping to outscore the Liverpool duo of Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah. Chelsea fans will be confident their defence can produce a better display than the opposition defence, with pundits often pointing to Liverpool’s defensive frailties as the reason they do not do as well in the league as many other clubs.
Ahead of the evening clash on Saturday we have created this infographic which takes a look at the facts and figures behind the clubs and the players. Everything from transfer records to recent results between the two have been included.
