Daniel Sturridge’s Liverpool career is closer to its end than ever following another frustrating season under Jurgen Klopp.
The England attacker has not played for Liverpool since the Reds 7-0 win over Spartak Moscow in December, with the likes of Danny Ings and Dominic Solanke moving ahead of him in the pecking order.
He has been the subject of interest from Inter Milan and Sevilla this month but the duo want a loan deal. Liverpool are looking to take him off their wage bill on a permanent basis and quoted £30 million to Southampton when they enquired.
West Ham are preparing to make a late offer for his signature. The Hammers are the only other English side to have shown an interest in Sturridge and they hope he would prefer to remain in the EPL. Sturridge’s Liverpool career made a solid start when he joined them from Chelsea in January 2013, he almost helped the Reds win the Premier League title the following year, scoring 24 goals as a member of the deadly SAS frontline. However, he has failed to make up to 30 appearances in a single season since that time.
Liverpool are also expecting a renewed approached from Inter Milan who are hoping to raise funds from offloading Eder to the Premier League.
