Liverpool are not relaxing in their bid to strengthen their squad this summer as Jurgen Klopp looks to build on the momentum that got them to the Champions League final last weekend, and they have begun talks with their main target Nabil Fekir.
Despite just completing the signing of Fabinho from Monaco, Fekir remains Jurgen Klopp’s number one target as he looks to replace Philippe Coutinho this summer.
The French man enhanced his reputation this week when he netted in France’s 2-0 win over the Republic of Ireland in a friendly, and that seems to have even forced Liverpool into trying to get the deal over the line sooner.
Fekir is expected to cost £60 million after a solid campaign with Lyon in which he helped them secure a return to the Champions League. Liverpool however, do face serious competition from other European sides and the attacker has even come out to claim he wasn’t close to joining Liverpool and that he has so many offers on the table at the moment.
Lyon are hoping he stays, but they are a selling club and Liverpool hope to tempt them into selling their most important player for the second year running after they allowed Alexandre Lacazette join Arsenal last summer.
