Liverpool have reportedly turned their attention to luring Real Madrid youngster Marco Asensio as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho.
The Reds sold the Brazilian last month and he left a huge void in their squad which they know has to be filled. However, Jurgen Klopp decided not to replace him in the last transfer window.
Thomas Lemar was Liverpool’s number one choice to replace the “Little Magician” but the French youngster has been underwhelming this season and Liverpool have decided to look elsewhere.
Don Balon is reporting that the Reds have now turned their attention to Asensio. The young Spaniard is one of the most sought-after young players in the world at the moment and has been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea before.
However, this season has not been very good for Los Blancos and they are looking to disband their current band of Galacticos. Although Asensio is still young and may not be one of the stars Real Madrid are actively looking to sell, a good offer would be hard to turn down.
The Spaniard is also looking for a new challenge as he has already won two Champions League trophies at the Spanish capital.
