Liverpool are the latest team to hold talks with Jack Grealish as the Aston Villa star looks to continue his career in the Premier League.
Grealish is attracting the attention of several top flight teams after starring for Villa last season. His plan was to remain with Villa when they return to the Premier League this summer, however, a loss in the Playoff finals to Fulham means they would spend this season in the English second tier again.
Liverpool and Tottenham are the biggest teams vying for his signature and Sun Sport reports that the Reds are the latest team to hold talks with him about a potential switch. However, the report maintains that Tottenham are still ahead of his other suitors.
Villa are cash-strapped heading into this new season and they would need to sell to be able to make even loan additions to their squad this season. Steve Bruce have reportedly been told that there is no money for him to make even free signings.
Villa wanted £40 million for the attacking midfielder and they hoped that Liverpool’s interest would spark a bidding war, however, they have now dropped their asking price to £20 million yet Tottenham are unwilling to go higher than £15 million.
