Liverpool and Arsenal will have to wait until the summer transfer window to get their primary Monaco target Lemar.
The youngster has attracted the attention of both clubs with sources suggesting Arsenal had tabled a bid towards the end of last summer. With Monaco very much depleted during the last window we understand an offer for Lemar to take him this January will not be accepted however the Ligue 1 side will listen to offers based on him moving during the summer window.
The two Premiership sides won’t be alone though with talk of PSG wanting to bring him to Paris so he can rejoin former team mate Mbappe. If PSG do get involved then it could be tricky for Arsenal and Liverpool but we have been informed that PSG will need to sell big time over the summer to meet the FFP regs, so you can expect some chain reactions from the romance capital.
There has also been talks between Real Madrid and Monaco for the youngster as little as a month ago. The Spanish side have felt somewhat left out recently without any huge marquee signings and Lemar apparently fits the bill of “freshening Zidane’s side up”.
Earlier interest by Arsenal and Liverpool might have given them a head start but for fans of both clubs it would be best to forget about the youngster this January and start checking the latest again from May.
