Hoffenheim’s Kerem Demirbay could be on his way to the Premier League next summer, if reports from Germany are to be believed.
The German has been on the radar of some of the Premier League’s top sides since last summer, but Arsenal and Liverpool have maintained the strongest interests.
The Gunners however, have brought in Henrikh Mkhitaryan and have secured the long term future of Mesut Ozil, they could do without Demirbay.
However, Liverpool have lost Philippe Coutinho, and Adam Lallana has been struggling for fitness this season. This has left them short of options in midfield and Jurgen Klopp wants to add more midfielders. The imminent departure of Emre Can also means they would need to outspend their rivals in midfield in the off-season.
Demirbay has been one of the top young German players over the past few seasons, and he is currently being watched by the likes of Athletico Madrid, PSG, and Napoli.
His release clause is currently set at £28 million, and Sports Bild claims Arsenal and Liverpool have agreed to pay it. It is now left for the player to decide who he wants to join.
