After missing out on signing Antoine Griezmann following the French forward’s declaration that he would be remaining at Atletico Madrid, Barcelona are in the market for a new attacker, and they have gotten recommendation from their star man, Lionel Messi.
Sun Sport reports that Messi has a say about who the club signs and he has taken advantage of that power to recommend Mohamed Salah to the Catalans.
Salah had a solid debut campaign in the just concluded Premier League season and he scored 10 goals to help Liverpool reach the final of the Champions League where they lost to Real Madrid.
He has been courted by several teams this summer, while Liverpool are keen on offering him a new deal that would make him the club’s highest goal scorer.
The reports claims Messi has told Barca to sign him so he can be paired alongside the Egyptian and Luis Suarez in Barcelona’s attack next season.
Liverpool have declared that they would not sell any of their star men and reluctantly allowed Philippe Coutinho join Barcelona in the January transfer window. It would be interesting to see if Barca would invest the funds they wanted to use and prize Griezmann away from Atleti on Salah.
