The “Kings of free transfer”, Juventus have entered the race to try and sign Jack Wilshere for free next summer.
The injury-prone midfielder is currently discussing a new contract with the Gunners as he hopes to continue his association with the Carabao Cup finalists.
Arsenal are offering Wilshere a reduced basic wage but a deal that would see him pocket more than he currently earns in appearance fees and other bonuses. The Gunners are arguing that his injury record means they cannot trust him with a higher basic wage.
The midfielder is currently enjoying his best season in a Arsenal shirt since 2011 and Arsene Wenger is happy to keep him at the Emirates.
However, Liverpool have offered to take Wilshere for free next summer if the midfielder is willing to consider a move away and the Reds are prepared to pay him his current basic wage and offer him improved bonus payments.
The Daily Mail is claiming this morning that Juventus have joined the race. The Italians have been given the title of the “Kings of free agents” because of their ability to lure players who have run down their contracts. They are currently in talks with Liverpool’s Emre Can, but they want Jack Wilshere too.
The Italian champions are ready to pay Wilshere more than whatever Arsenal would pay him. It would however, be difficult for them to convince Wilshere however, as the England midfielder wants to remain in England with his young family.
