Manchester United have become the latest team to show interest in Stoke City winger Xherdan Shaqiri after the Potters relegation to the Championship.
The winger is one of the Potters’ most sought-after players and he looks set to depart the bet 365 Stadium. His small release clause of £12 million is sure to spark a bidding war with the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and other Europeans sides also chasing his signature.
Sun Sport reports that the winger’s performances at the current World Cup in Russia have caught the eyes of Mourinho and the former Chelsea manager wants to add him to his Red Devils’ line up.
Mourinho is believed to have told close friends and family that he was impressed by Shaqiri and would want him in his team. The winger has also made it clear that he wants to remain in England and he would be moving to a top side soon.
He told Sporx: “I want to stay in the Premier League, and you will find out my new club soon.”
Meanwhile, Mourinho also looks set to offer Luke Shaw another chance at staying at Old Trafford after he became impressed by the left back’s return to form and hopes he can perform better this season.
