Two losses in Arsenal’s last two games has heightened their search for a new replacement manager despite current boss Arsene Wenger having recently signed a new deal to remain at the Emirates.
Anything less than three points against Bournemouth this weekend and the board may feel forced to increase their efforts to replace Wenger regardless of their current relationship. It appears Wenger can not do much wrong where the North London clubs board is concerned.
Arsenal fans will have their own views on who should take the reigns off Wenger but the bookies have their own thoughts too with Patrick Viera now third favourite to take over at 6/1 with BetVictor. During the summer his odds were 14/1 so there has been some movement.
As joint favourite we have Atletico Madrid manager (perhaps more famous for tripping over David Beckham like a girl against in England at the World Cup in France 1998) Diego Simeone at 4/1. World Cup politics aside, he has done wonders at Atleti and seems to be the fans favourite.
Joining him at the same price is Thomas Tuchel, who despite winning last seasons DFB Pokal (Cup) with Borussia Dortmund finds himself looking through employment ads. He could be a decent bet if things haven’t improved by January.
Do fans go for one of their old legends in Viera, or a proven hardman that will ruffle some feathers in Simeone?
