After his obvious come and get me plea at the end of the 2018 Champions League final on Saturday, Gareth Bale could me heading to the Premier League this summer with his club president also not offering assurances that he would stay.
Bale and Christiano Ronaldo dropped hints that they may be leaving the Bernabeu this summer, and the question of their future was asked of Real Madrid’s president Florentino Perez and he responded in the affirmative for Ronaldo, while giving no assurances for Bale.
Ronaldo has attained legendary status at the European champions and wants the same money as Lionel Messi gets at Barcelona in his new deal, but Gareth Bale has fallen out of Zinedine Zidane’s first team plans.
“Everyone has the right to speak, the important thing is the club and on a day like today, that we are all celebrating the Champions League.
“We always talk about him and then nothing happens, but I’m delighted that Cristiano has five European Cups like me.
“Ask him, he’s going to stay, he has a contract.”
About Bale, he said: “Bale’s goal has been one of the best in the game clearly.
“We have the best player in each position and as a result we are leading the world of football.
“We’ve won three in a row and four in five years and all the players are happy.
“I can’t ask for more but I don’t know if this can last for much longer.”
Manchester United would be delighted by the doubts surrounding the Welsh man’s future as they are looking to sign him this summer.
