Everton have shocked Manchester United by reaching an agreement with Barcelona over the signing of Yerry Mina.
The Colombian has been on the radar of both Premier League sides after he shone so brightly at the World Cup for the South Americans. He had been earmarked for a move to Old Trafford after Manchester United’s chief negotiator travelled to Spain to complete the deal.
However, Sun Sport claims that talks between the Red Devils and the Spaniards broke down which gave Everton an opportunity to swoop for the defender, and they have had a £28.5 million offer accepted by the Catalans.
Mina has struggled to get into the Barcelona starting lineup since he joined from Palmeiras last January. He played just 6 times before the end of last season, and has falling further down the pecking order following the arrival of Clement Lenglet this summer.
The 23 years old has no guarantee of playing this season and has decided to seek a move elsewhere. He has reportedly agreed to sign a 5 years deal with the Marcos Silva led Toffees and he would be reuniting with his former teammate at Barcelona, Lucas Digne who joined the Toffees last week.
