Eden Hazard has provided Chelsea with a timely boost ahead of the close of the European transfer window by insisting that he is happy at Stamford Bridge and would not be going anywhere.
The Belgian has been linked a high-profile move to Real Madrid this summer after Cristiano Ronaldo left the European champions, however, Los Blancos have yet to make a move for him.
Barcelona have also been linked with a move for the World Cup star who helped Belgium win their third place match against the Three Lions.
Hazard has just two years left on his current deal and has refused to sign an extension so far, but he has clarified his future by insisting that he won’t be leaving this summer, but stop short of committing his long term future to the FA Cup holders.
He told RMC”I am happy at Chelsea for now. I have two years left on my contract, and we will see what happens.
“Leave this year? I won’t go. The transfer window in England is already closed.
“Players can leave, but clubs can’t make new signings.
“It would be strange for Chelsea’s people to let me go without signing anyone to replace me.
“You could see once again in the Arsenal game that the fans love me, and I am happy here.
“We will see what happens in a year or two’s time.
“You know what I said after the World Cup finals. I am happy at Chelsea and I don’t yet want to talk about leaving.
“Plenty of things have been said about me – a lot of rubbish and everything.”
