Jerome Boateng has dealt Manchester United’s chances of signing him this summer a major blow after he repeatedly told Jose Mourinho that he would not be signing for the Red Devils.
The Red Devils have been in talks with Bayern Munich for the transfer of the World Cup winner, and they had reportedly offered £22 million for his signature, however, reports in Germany claim that Boateng has personally called the former Chelsea boss to tell him that he had no intention of joining them again.
Boateng is said to have told the Red Devils initially that he wanted a deal worth £12.5 million per season and that was the reason the Old Trafford hierarchy offered £22 million which is about half the price that Bayern want for the former Manchester City man.
Manchester United now have just two days to provide Jose Mourinho with the defender he wants badly else we could be in for a season of constant moaning and groaning from Portuguese tactician.
Yerry Mina, Harry Maguire, and Toby Alderweireld are some of the players who have been targeted by Mourinho as well, and they might have to make a panic buy of one of them before the transfer window shuts for Premier League teams after they all agreed to end the window early last season.
