Chelsea are set to sign Russia’s World Cup star, Aleksandr Golovin as his mum confirms talks are ongoing between her son and the FA Cup holders.
Golovin has attracted the attention of several top teams for his performances at the ongoing World Cup and he looks set to move to a bigger European side.
Juventus, Manchester United and Arsenal have also been linked with the CSKA Moscow star. The Old Ladies had a bid of £18 million rejected before the World Cup with the Russians believing that they can sell him for more if he shines at the World Cup.
Sun Sport reports that Chelsea have moved ahead of his other suitors in the race to sign him this summer and his mum can confirm that talks are currently been held.
Per the reports she said: “Yes, now there are talks between the clubs, but we still do not know the details.
“Sacha right now stands only for the Russian team, fully focused on the World Cup. The transition from one club to another will only be discussed after it is completed here.
“For now, everyone loves my Sacha, even those who before didn’t care about football. His biggest fan is his 83-year-old grandmother – she does not miss a single match.”
