If Chelsea are serious about signing Bayer Leverkusen winger, Leon Bailey, the Blues would need to pay at least £50 million for the signature of the Jamaican. This is going rate according to the German media.
The transfer market has seen an upturn in transfer fees since Neymar’s move to PSG and German sides who are well aware of the interest of Premier League club’s on their top talents have also kept their valuations high.
Chelsea have been Bailey’s most serious suitors, and they bid £30 million for his signature last month, but the player and his club are in no hurry to sell so they rejected the offer from the Blues. But the might have gotten their man if they added a few more pounds to that amount.
According to Sports Bild, Bailey is currently valued at £50 million, and if Chelsea can take their bid to that amount, the winger would be theirs. Bailey is also interested in a move to the Premier League, which would make the transfer smooth.
Chelsea need to refresh their attack as most of their current crop of attackers have failed to impress this season. They also risk losing Eden Hazard after this season and they want Bailey to replace him.
